Well,1st & foremost,let me just say that i WASN'T a regular at Hippo's ,i actually only got in about 3 times.I was only 15 in 1990,so i used to go to most of the U-18's nights on a Wednesday,but a year or 2 later,because my Dad used to know a couple of the doormen,he manged to get me in & also another guy called Ammy sorted it.

I live up on that lovely little estate just a mile up the road from Hippo's called Langley!I started goin down into Midd at the weekends & used to hang about round the bus station drinkin vodka or whatever other bevvy we could get at the time & then used to go over to Hippos,pop a trip,pill or both & just rock out outside!!!

Anyway,i'm so glad that somebody has taken the time to put this fantastic site together,respect to ya mate:so many crackin memories.

Just before i go,i'd like to say that,if anybody wants any oldskool sets,such as Fantazia,Dreamscape,Perception,Studio mixes,etc...just give me a shout on the forum & i'll post em in the members section.Thats if its OK with the site admin???LATERS!

Thanks for the welcome mate!As far as sets go,i've got allsorts by DJs such as:Ellis Dee,Easygroove,Grooverider,Carl Cox,Tango,Phantasy,Fabio,Slipmatt,Top Buzz,Ratty,Pilgrim,Micky Finn,LTJ Bukem,Sy,SS,etc.The only thing i don't really bother with are single tunes.The reason being is that they end up taking loads of room on my harddrive,which i haven't got!If you can think of any events,club nights or studio sets you've been after,let me know & i'll see what i can do. I'm up for Any good quality mixes, Most ov mine are on things called " Tape Casettes" Propa ropey poor sounding mixes, That is if you've got anythin to play em on ? got any moggy ? jay wearden stuff ? mixfactory etc ?

I think MOST of the sets i've got are tape rips,but i don't mind em bein a bit snap,crackle & poppy!I think they sound a bit fake when they're all polished up!!As for sets by Moggy,Jay,Mix Factory etc,i think you lot on here will probably have a lot of em,coz i got em off a guy from Rochdale on Soulseek,who pointed me in this direction.I've got a load of 808 State radio mixes & also Spinmasters aka 808State @ Thunderdome.One of the reasons i came here was for the Moggy,et al,sets,so if anyone can sort me out,it would be very much appreciated.But like i said,if anyone wants any of my stuff,i'd be more than happy to oblige!I've got about 20gig & rising,so dont be shy,JUST ASK & ye shall receive!!!!!! Oh,also got some Moggy @ Maximes stuff too.

When the Drome came to an end in '92 , Maximes had started a night called Back to the old skool, which I suppose for me was a natural progression from Hippos. As you know by about '94 - '95 and onwards every fucker from Mid was in there.
So if you have a few sets from Maximes (especially with Moggy on) get em posted!

Alright Barry,you've probably already seen em,but i've upped a few sets into the DJ Box.Whereabouts on Langley did you live then.I'm only askin coz i've lived in about 15 different houses up here & probably know people you do.Anyhoo,enjoy the mixes!
